Here’s what you need to know about transportation for No Kings Madison WI
There’s a lot going on in Madison on Oct. 18. Regardless of your destination or means of transportation, you should allow for more time to get there.
If you’re coming by car to McPike Park…
If you’re coming by car directly to the Capitol…
We recommend that you use BRT – Madison Metro’s Bus Rapid Transit.
Buses on Metro Rapid Route A run every 15 minutes. You can get near McPike Park – about a 10-minute walk away – or take the bus straight to the Capitol. An added benefit is that you can return to your parked car directly from the Capitol without having to stop at the park again.
Rapid Route A runs east/west between the Sun Prairie Park & Ride and the parking lot on Junction Rd. For information about Park & Ride, go to https://www.cityofmadison.com/metro/how-to-ride/park-ride-lots You can park your car at either end of the route, or you can board at stations starting at East Springs Dr. on the east side all the way to the west end of the route. You actually could park your car anywhere along the way and catch the bus.
For McPike Park, exit at the stop on E. Washington Ave at S. Baldwin St. It’s about a 10-minute walk to the park from there.

For people with disabilities, BRT buses and stations have a number of accessibility features including automatic wheelchair securement, audible real-time sign information, widened crosswalks, and level-boarding so that you don’t need to step up onto the bus. Consider getting a ride from a taxi or rideshare driver, or ask someone you know to drop you off.
This option is especially good for persons with disabilities. You can get dropped off and picked up right in front of the No Kings sites. Here are some options:
